Mr. Review is a Dutch ska revival band formed in Amsterdam in 1983. The project originated when guitarist Arne Visser and drummer Roel Ording, who had already played together, met singer Dr. Rude at a Mark Foggo & The Secret Meeting concert in 1983. The band's music includes a prominent brass section and a blend of ska and reggae. They released their debut studio album, Walkin' Down Brentford Road, in 1989 through the London-based label Unicorn Records, as an homage to the Kingston address of Jamaica's Studio One. Their second studio album, Lock, Stock & Barrel (1994), released by Grover Records, established their international success. Subsequent releases include the singles âThe Street Where I'm Livingâ (1995) and âShips that Pass in the Nightâ (1997), the live album Keep the Fire Burning (1995), and the compilation One Way Ticket to Skaville (1998). The band disbanded in December 1999. In 2001, Visser, Dr. Rude, and saxophonist Remco Korporaal formed the successor group Rude & Visser, which released the mini-album Red Rum (2002). In 2009, they reclaimed the Mr. Review name and recorded their third studio album, XXV, released on November 13, 2010, on MR Records. The band played its last concert at the This is Ska Festival in Germany in 2016.
