Biography

Formed in 2002 in Montreal, Quebec, Mountain Daisies is a Canadian country duo consisting of singer and violinist Ariane Ouellet and guitarist Carl Prévost. Their musical journey began in 2004 when they started performing at various festivals across Quebec. In December 2010, they established the inaugural Mountain Daisies Open Country; a series of monthly shows where renowned pop artists were invited to showcase their favourite country songs. The duo's collaborative efforts culminated in the release of the album L'Open Country de Mountain Daisies in 2013. This collective project featured thirteen artists interpreting Mountain Daisies' songs in their own unique country styles. In 2015, Mountain Daisies embarked on a creative adventure with Éric Goulet, Gilles Bélanger, Luc De Larochellière, Mara Tremblay, and Michel Rivard. Secluding themselves in a country house for a week, they crafted the album Sept Jours En Mai (Seven Days in May). Their originality continued to flourish, leading to the release of their first original album titled Nouvelle Maison (New Home) in 2018. The album showcased the hit title track, which gained substantial airplay on country radios in Quebec. It was fittingly launched during the Merci Festival Western de St-Tite. In September 2022, Mountain Daisies unveiled an English EP entitled Dare to Fall, inspired by their journey to Nashville in 2019.
