Biography

Fred Fortin, born Joseph Antoine Frédéric Fortin Perron on May 15, 1971, is a Quebecois folk singer. He gained recognition with his self-titled debut album in 1996, featuring successful tracks such as "Moisi moé'ssi" and "Portrait d'un ovni." In addition to his solo career, he performed in various bands such as Gros Méné, Galaxie, and The Breastfeeders, releasing three more solo albums over the next ten years, including Le Plancher des Vaches (2000), Planter le Décor (2004), and Plastrer la Lune (2009), with the latter longlisted for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize. His fifth album, Ultramarr (2016), brought him further acclaim, with hits like "10$" and "Oiseaux." In 2019, he released his sixth album, Microdose.
