Biography

Mostar Sevdah Reunion, a group from Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, was formed in 1998 by Dragi Šestić. The band initially consisted of local musicians with extensive experience who reunited to record their debut album, Mostar Sevdah Reunion, in 1999. This release marked the beginning of their career, which quickly gained traction among world music audiences. The group is known for interpreting sevdalinka and collaborating with notable figures in gypsy music, including Šaban Bajramović and Ljiljana Buttler. Their discography includes A Gypsy Legend (2001), The Mother of Gypsy Soul (2002) with Ljiljana Buttler, A Secret Gate (2003), and Café Sevdah (2007). Mostar Sevdah Reunion has received several awards, including the "Davorin" Bosnian Music Awards for Best Ethno Album of 2003. The band's members include Mišo Petrović, Sandi Duraković, Antonija Batinić, Marko Jakovljević, Gabrijel Prusina, Senad Trnovac, and Vanja Radoja.
