Morten Abel Knutsen, known professionally as Morten Abel, was born on October 15, 1962, in Bodø, Norway. He started his music career as a teenager when he moved to Stavanger and became the lead singer of Catrix, later renamed Mods. The band released two Norwegian-language albums, Revansj! (1981) and Amerika (1982), and an English-language album, Time Machine (1984). After Mods disbanded, Abel formed The September When in 1987, which became popular with hits like "Bullet Me" and "Cries Like A Baby". Following the band's split in 1996, Abel released his debut solo album, Snowboy, in 1997. His subsequent albums, including I'll Come Back And Love You Forever (2005) and Morten Abel (2006), achieved significant success in Norway. Notable singles from his solo career include "Big Brother" (2006).
