Biography
Monrose is a German pop girl group that was formed in 2006 in the fifth season of the casting show Popstars. The band consists of Mandy Capristo (born on March 21, 1990 in Mannheim), Senna Gammour (born on December 28, 1979 in Frankfurt am Main) and Bahar Kızıl (born on October 5, 1988 in Freiburg im Breisgau). Monrose's musical genres are pop, R&B and dance-pop. Their debut album Temptation was released in December 2006 and reached number 1 in the charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The accompanying single "Shame" also becomes a number 1 hit in German-speaking countries. the second album Strictly Physical follows in 2007. The album contains the successful single "Hot Summer". The song again reaches the top position in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. This was followed by the albums I Am (2008) and Ladylike (2010). After numerous successes and a total of over 3 million records sold, Monrose split up in 2011. The band was awarded important prizes, including the Bravo Otto in silver (2006 and 2007 as Best Pop Band) and the Viva Comet 2008 for the best song with "Hot Summer".
