Monique diMattina, born on December 28, 1971, in Melbourne, Australia, is a jazz pianist, singer, and composer. She grew up with Italian and English convict heritage and initially studied law at the University of Melbourne before pursuing jazz piano and composition at Victorian College of the Arts. In 2000, following Queens Trust and Fulbright postgraduate awards, diMattina moved to New York City, where she studied with notable musicians such as Sophia Rosoff and Barry Harris. She released her first album, Live at the 55, in 2002, featuring covers and originals. In 2013, diMattina recorded Monique DiMattina In New Orleans: Nola's Ark in New Orleans, which included eight original songs. Her third solo piano album, Tides, was released in 2021. She has also collaborated with various artists and composed for musical theatre productions such as STELLA.
