Miroslav IliÄ, born on December 10, 1950, in MrÄajevci near ÄaÄak, Serbia, is a Serbian singer. He began his recording career while still in elementary school and gained prominence with the release of his 1972 single "Voleo Sam Devojku Iz Grada". Known as the "Nightingale from MrÄajevci," IliÄ's music often references the ethos of his native region, Å umadija. His album, Miroslav IliÄ, was released in 1976, followed by notable works such as Sreli Smo Se Bilo Je To Davno (1979) and U Svet Odoh Majko (1980). In 1982, his album Shvatio Sam, Ne Mogu Bez Tebe sold nine hundred thousand copies. IliÄ's career spans over five decades. He celebrated fifty years in music with two consecutive concerts at the Belgrade Arena in December 2022. With sales of over eight million records in the former Yugoslavia, IliÄ is one of the most commercially successful Serbian folk singers.
