Biography
Mirabai Ceiba, a devotional music duo, was formed in 2004 by Angelika Baumbach and Markus Sieber. Born in Tucson, Arizona, USA, Angelika Baumbach is of Mexican and German descent and grew up near Mexico City. She began her musical career at age 15 with the group Cielo y Tierra, debuting in 1992 with Warner Bros. Markus Sieber was born near Dresden, Germany. Mirabai Ceiba's repertoire includes original compositions, Kundalini Yoga mantras, and traditional Native American songs. They have released numerous albums, including Flores (2004), Ocean (2008), and "A Hundred Blessings" (2010). Their album Ocean was nominated for Best Vocal Album of the Year 2008 by New Age Reporter. In 2013, their album "Between the Shores of Our Souls" won the ZMR Award for Best Vocal Album of 2012.
