Biography

Mint Royale, an electronic music act from Manchester, England, was founded in 1997 by Neil Claxton and Chris Baker. The duo initially specialized in remixes, gaining recognition after their mix of "Tequila" by Terrorvision reached number 2 on the charts. Their breakthrough came with the release of their debut album On the Ropes in late 1999, which featured the Top 20 hit single "Don't Falter". The song "From Rusholme With Love" from this album became widely recognized through its use in various film and television soundtracks. In 2002, Mint Royale released their second album Dancehall Places, which included the UK Top 20 hit "The Sexiest Man in Jamaica". Following a series of live shows and tours, the band faced internal changes when Chris Baker left in 2004. Neil Claxton continued as a solo act, releasing the album See You In The Morning in 2005, which featured Duffy on two tracks. The single "Singing In The Rain" from this album reached Number 1 on the UK Singles Chart in June 2008. The band announced their hiatus in March 2016 but returned with a new song "Glitter" in February 2020.
