Biography

FC Kahuna, a British electronic music duo formed in 1997 in the United Kingdom, comprised Jon Nowell and Daniel Ormondroyd, both producers and programmers. Their early work emerged from the UK club scene with EPs such as "You Know It Makes Sense" (1997) and "Bright Morning White" (1998), establishing a presence in the big beat and electronica genres. In 2002 the duo released their debut album Machine Says Yes, featuring singles "Machine Says Yes" and "Hayling" with Icelandic vocalist Hafdís Huld; the album sold over 50,000 copies and reached the UK charts, with "Machine Says Yes" peaking at number 58 and "Hayling" at number 49. The same year they expanded into live performances, touring the United Kingdom in support of Röyksopp and culminating in a sold‑out show at Brixton Academy, and later appeared at international festivals including Coachella, T in the Park, and Roskilde. In 2003 they issued the mix album Another Fine Mess, an offshoot of the Another Late Night series, which included remixes of artists such as New Order and The Faint. Their tracks were licensed for television shows such as Six Feet Under and films including Layer Cake, and featured in video games like Need for Speed: Underground. The duo disbanded in 2003.
