Biography

Mimikry, a Swedish punk rock band, was formed in 1993 by Hjalmar "Hjalle" Östman and Jonas "Heavy" Stentäpp. The duo met early on when they competed together on the television series På rymmen. Mimikry released their debut album, Automatiskt (2000), following the success of Hjalle och Heavy's first album, På rymmen (1998), which topped the charts for four weeks and sold 80,000 copies. The band has released several albums over the years, including Visar Vägen (2002), Kryptonit (2004), Uppsamlingsheatet (2005), Alderland (2008), Monster (2012), Tjugo (2014), Alla Sover (2016), Grit (2018), and Splitter (2021). Notable songs from their discography include "En flicka som är stark" (2004) and "Röda Fanor" (2014). The band's lineup has included Johan Åsberg on guitar, Mia Mästerbo on bass, and Anders "Apan" Andersson on guitar, who played from 2005–2010 and rejoined in 2023.
