Mikko Herranen, born on April 9, 1976, in Finland, is a Finnish singer and musician. He began studying piano at age three, drums at thirteen, and voice in high school. His musical journey started with the band RUST, formed in 2001, where he served as the main composer, singer, and bassist. The band released their debut album Softly in August 2004, which reached top 50 on the Finnish album chart. Herranen produced all of RUST's recordings, including three full-length albums, two EPs, and five singles. In 2012, he competed on The Voice of Finland, reaching the top 8 and subsequently signing a record deal with Johanna/Universal to release his debut solo album Kylmä maailma (Cold World), which debuted at number 6 on the Finnish album chart. He is also involved with the thrash metal band Misterer.
