Mikko Tapio Alatalo, also known as Mikko Alatalo, born on May 1, 1951, in Kuivaniemi, Finland, is a Finnish musician and politician. Alatalo's early work included collaborations with rock musician Juice Leskinen and contributions to various genres, notably children's music and folk music. His breakthrough came with the release of "Maalaispoika oon" in 1975, which marked the beginning of his successful career. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Alatalo released numerous albums, including Hasardi (1976), Rokkilaulaja (1977), and Känkkäränkkä ja Artturi Robotti (1984). His style evolved from rock to schlager, and he co-wrote many of his songs with Harri Rinne. In addition to his music career, he was elected to the Parliament of Finland in 2003 and served until 2015, and he was also a member of the City Council of Tampere in 2008 and 2012.
