Mikaela Pettersson (performing as Mikeyla; born 1986) is a Swedish rock and pop singer from Karlskrona. Pettersson was raised on the island of Sturkö and rose to prominence in 2005 as a contestant on the fourth edition of the television talent series Fame Factory. Following the program, Pettersson signed with Pama Records, a subsidiary of Mariann Grammofon, and released her debut single, âYoung and Stupidâ (2005), which reached number 14 on the Swedish charts. Petterssonâs debut album, Glorious, appeared in 2005. The follow-up single, âThe Lieâ, reached number 10. In 2006, Mikeyla collaborated with the group The Metal Forces on the single âGloriousâ, which peaked at number 7. Pettersson released her second studio album, Something Like That, in 2006. The record incorporates elements of hard rock and pop, featuring the track âJust A Girlâ.
