Biography

Hellanbach, a British metal and rock band from South Shields, was formed in 1979 by vocalist Jimmy Brash, guitarist Dave Patton, bassist Kev Charlton, and drummer Steve Walker. The group released their debut EP Out to Get You in 1980 through Guardian Records. In 1983, Hellanbach signed with Neat Records and released their first album Now Hear This, featuring the track "Look at Me". In 1984, Hellanbach released their second album The Big H with new drummer Barry Hopper, which included a cover of Elton John's "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting". The band disbanded in 1985. After disbanding, Sanctuary Records compiled all of Hellanbach’s recordings into The Big H: The Hellanbach Anthology in 2002.
