Biography

Michel Reis, born September 11, 1982, in Luxembourg City, is a Luxembourgish jazz pianist and composer. He began playing piano at age eight and started composing in his early teens, enrolling in the Luxembourg Conservatory's jazz department. Michel Reis earned degrees from Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music. Michel Reis has performed internationally in venues such as the Blue Note Jazz Club and Montreux Jazz Festival. His debut album A Young Mind was released in 2006, followed by several others including Hidden Meaning (2013) and For A Better Tomorrow (2023). In 2006, he took second prize at the Montreux Jazz Solo Piano Competition. Michel Reis has also been recognized as an Export Artist of the Year by the Luxembourgish export office music:LX in both 2013 and 2014 for his work with the Reis Demuth Wiltgen Trio.
