Biography

Michael Gulezian is an American composer and fingerstyle guitarist born in 1957 in Newark, New Jersey. He achieved professional recognition for a musical style incorporating Middle Eastern and Armenian folk influences, having been influenced by his father, oud virtuoso H. Aram Gulezyan. Based in Tucson, Arizona, since 1965, he self-published his debut studio album, Snow (1979), through Aardvark Records. The recording was re-released as Unspoken Intentions (1980) on Takoma Records. Following a period in which he graduated from the University of Arizona, Gulezian established the label Timbreline Music. He relocated to Nashville in 1997. His recording career includes the studio albums Distant Memories and Dreams (1990), The Dare Of An Angel (1994), and Language of the Flame (2001). His discography includes the live recording Concert at St. Olaf College (2004) and the studio recording thunder heaven light (2019).
