Andy McKee, born April 4, 1979 in Topeka, Kansas, is an American guitarist known for his intricate fingerstyle technique. He began playing guitar at age 13 and initially learned through self-teaching and instructional materials from Preston Reed. In 2001, McKee released his debut album, Nocturne, independently and placed third in the National Fingerstyle Guitar Competition. His second album, Dreamcatcher, was released in 2004 and featured covers of "Africa" by Toto and "Theme from Schindler's List". In 2005, McKee released his third album, Art of Motion, through Candyrat Records. This album gained significant traction due to viral YouTube videos. His subsequent releases include The Gates of Gnomeria (2007) and Joyland (2010). McKee has toured extensively, performing with artists such as Michael Manring and Antoine Dufour.
