Melinda Caroll, born April 4, 1952, in Jacksonville, Florida, is an American singer, composer, and record producer. Her musical journey began with background vocals on comedian Frank De Limaâs song âGlen Miyashiroâ from his 1989 album SupaâShaka. Since 1989, Caroll has created music for the Girl Scouts, culminating in her first Girl Scouts album, We Change the World, Vol.â¯1, released in 1997. Her composition âEvery Girl, Everywhereâ debuted at the Girl Scoutsâ 90th Anniversary Gala in Washington, D.C., on Marchâ¯12,â¯2002. In 2012, her song âIgniteâ was chosen as the theme for the Girl Scouts USA centennial celebration. Caroll is a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of the USA and resides in Maui. In 2016, she founded the When We Shine Foundation and works as a Music Arts Director and Teaching Artist in Maui Public Schools.
