Medium Terzett, a German music ensemble, was formed in 1954, consisting of Helmut "Henry" Niekamp, Wilfried Witte, and Lothar Nitschke. Their first public performance took place at the Feuerwehrfest in Melle and the trio gained significant attention when they were discovered by Peter Frankenfeld for television in 1960. In 1961, Medium Terzett participated in the first Deutsche Schlager-Festspiele in Baden-Baden with their song "Südsee Ballade", which reached 6th place. Their breakthrough hit was "Der ganze Kahn ist voller Heimweh" released the same year. The group continued to release popular songs inspired by the Winnetou films, including "Der Schatz im Silbersee" and "Winnetou". In 1965, they embarked on a cruise with MS Berlin of Norddeutscher Lloyd, entertaining passengers during a Silvester-Kreuzfahrt to the Canary Islands. The group's success continued into the late 1960s with hits like "Ein Loch ist im Eimer" and "Drei Chinesen mit dem Kontrabass". They were frequent guests on television and radio shows, notably holding the record for most appearances on Zum Blauen Bock with 30 performances. Over the years, Medium Terzett released several albums including Von Kilometer Zu Kilometer (1966), Ein Loch ist im Eimer (1969), Lieder unserer Heimat (1978), and Wo gehobelt wird... (1981), disbanding shortly after, returning with various compilation and holiday albums in the 90s including Ein Eimer voll Musik (1991) and Das schöne groÃe Weihnachtsfest (1996) Lothar Nitschke passed away on October 2, 1999, followed by Helmut "Henry" Niekamp on November 24, 2015.
