Biography

McBride & The Ride, an American country music band, was formed in 1989 with Terry McBride on lead vocals and bass guitar, Ray Herndon on background vocals and guitars, and Billy Thomas on background vocals and drums. Their breakthrough came with "Can I Count on You", which reached number 15 on the Billboard country charts, leading to their first album, Burnin' Up the Road (1990). The band's second album, Sacred Ground (1992), featured three Top 5 hits: "Sacred Ground" at number 2, and "Going Out of My Mind" and "Just One Night", both at number 5. In 1994, Herndon and Thomas left the group after MCA Records decided to shift the band's focus to McBride, renaming it Terry McBride & The Ride for their fourth album (1994). After disbanding in 1994, the band reunited in 2000 to release Amarillo Sky (2002) on Dualtone Records.
