Biography

Mathias Eick is a multi-instrumental jazz musician from Norway whose father is bassist Jürgen Eick and siblings are bassist Johannes Eick and French horn player Trude Eick. He has collaborated with a great many artists including pianists Chick Corea and Iro Haarla, drummer Manu Katché and guitarist Jacob Young in the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra and with the jazz ensemble Jaga Jazzist. Other collaborators include pianist Jan Gunnar Hoff, bassist Lars Danielsson, violinist Ola Kvernberg and accordionist Vincent Peirani. He has toured with singer-songwriter Thomas Dybdahl and performed at international music festivals. Solo albums include 'The Door' (2008), 'Skala' (2011), 'Midwest' (2015) and 'Ravensburg' (2018).
