Biography

Mata-Ratos, a Portuguese punk rock band from Oeiras, Lisbon, formed in 1982. They released their first demo cassette, Manifesto de Combate, in 1985. In 1990, Mata-Ratos signed with EMI/Valentim de Carvalho and released their debut album, Rock Radioactivo. The album's single "A Minha Sogra é um Boi" sparked controversy due to its explicit content, leading to a temporary broadcast ban and increased public attention. Mata-Ratos is known for their energetic live performances and have played alongside notable acts like The Exploited.
