Mary's Danish was an American alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in the late 1980s. The group featured lead singers Gretchen Seager and Julie Ritter, along with guitarists David Archbold King and Matt Colleran, bassist Christopher Scott "Wag" Wagner, and drummer James Oliver Bradley Jr. Their debut album There Goes the Wondertruck was released in 1989 on Chameleon Records, featuring the single "Don't Crash the Car Tonight" which gained them initial recognition. That year, they were highlighted by Robert Hilburn of the Los Angeles Times as one of 1989's brightest newcomers and listed by Rolling Stone as one of their "Top Five New Faces." In 1990, Mary's Danish switched to Morgan Creek Records, releasing Circa in 1991 and American Standard in 1992. Their cover of "I Fought the Law" was featured in the film Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The band disbanded in 1993 following a dispute with their label.
