Biography

Martin Horntveth, born on September 20, 1977 in Tønsberg, Norway, is a Norwegian musician primarily known as a drummer. In 1994, he co-founded the band Jaga Jazzist with Ivar Johansen and his brother Lars Horntveth. The group became a key part of Martin's career, releasing several albums including Twin in 2019. In summer 2003, Martin and Lars wrote a commissioned work for Vestfold Festspillene which led to the formation of The National Bank. This band received the Edvard Prize 2005 for pop music with their debut album's song "Tolerate". As a solo artist, Horntveth released two EPs: Fast Motion in 2002 and Skull EP. He has collaborated extensively as a drummer with various artists including Bigbang.
