Martijn van Iterson (born July 11, 1970, in Leiden) is a Dutch jazz and fusion guitarist, composer, and educator. Van Iterson studied at the Hilversums Conservatorium under Wim Overgaauw, graduating cum laude in 1993. In 1990, he placed second in the Wessel-Ilcken-Nachwuchspreis. Van Iterson led the jazz-rock formations D-Code and Picks Might Fly and won the 1994 Heineken Crossover Award with the jazz-dance group All the Kingâs Men. He performed with prominent ensembles including the Skymasters, Metropole Orchestra, and the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw. A frequent collaborator, he recorded with Mike Stern in 1996 and performed alongside Lee Konitz and Toots Thielemans. In 2004, Van Iterson received the Bird Award from Pat Metheny at the North Sea Jazz Festival. His solo discography includes It's Happening (1998), The Whole Bunch (2004), Streetwise (2006), and Swarms (2014). He joined the faculties of the Royal Conservatory and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
