Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch were an American hip-hop group formed in Boston in 1991, consisting of Mark Wahlberg (alias Marky Mark), Scottie Gee, Hector the Booty Inspector, DJ-T, and Ashey Ace. The group's breakthrough came with their debut album Music for the People, released in July 1991, which reached number one on the Top Heatseekers chart and number 21 on the Billboard 200. The album featured two Top 10 singles: "Good Vibrations", which peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1991, and "Wildside", which reached number ten. Music for the People was certified platinum by January 1992. The group's follow-up album, You Gotta Believe, released in September 1992, peaked at number 67 on the Billboard 200. Their last appearance was "I Want You", featured on the soundtrack of the movie Super Mario Bros. The group disbanded in 1993. After calling it a day, Mark Wahlberg continued his music career with reggae musician Prince Ital Joe, releasing two albums in Europe and achieving a number-one hit in Germany with "United". He retired from music in 1998, but went on to become a famous actor.
