Mark Ernestus (born 1963) is a German electronic, techno, and dub musician, producer, and label owner from Berlin. Ernestus opened the club Kumpelnest 3000 in May 1987 and established the record store Hard Wax in December 1989. Beginning in the 1990s, Ernestus collaborated with Moritz von Oswald to found the projects Basic Channel, Chain Reaction, Main Street, and Rhythm & Sound. Ernestus established the labels Burial Mix and Imbalance to integrate dub production, collaborating with vocalists including Paul St. Hilaire, Sugar Minott, and Willi Williams. Since 2012, Ernestus has operated the Ndagga label, producing Mbalax music in Senegal. Major recordings include the albums 800% Ndagga (2013) and Ndagga Versions (2013) with the ensemble Jeri-Jeri. Under the name Mark Ernestus' Ndagga Rhythm Force, Ernestus released the album Yermande in 2016.
