Biography

Mario Escudero, born on October 11, 1928, in Alicante, Spain, was a Spanish flamenco guitarist. He began his career as a soloist and guitar accompanist, collaborating with artists such as Estrellita Castro and Carmen Amaya. Escudero released his first album, Fiesta Flamenca, in 1955, followed by notable works including Mario Escudero and His Flamenco Guitar (1955) and Flamenco! (1955). He performed extensively in Central and South America with his group El Capricho Español and settled in the United States to focus on his concert career. Escudero's career spanned 47 years, concluding with performances in Spain and the United States in 1991. He died on November 19, 2004, in Miami, Florida.
