Biography
Maribou State, the electronic duo of Chris Davids and Liam Ivory, formed in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, after meeting in school. Their first break came at 16, remixing a track for Hadouken! In 2011, they debuted with the Habitat EP on FatCat Records, followed by releases on Norman Cookâs Southern Fried Records. Their Truths EP (2013) featured vocalists Jimi Nxir and Holly Walker. In 2015, they released their debut album Portraits on Counter Records, with "Midas" earning a Silver certification in 2022. Their 2018 album Kingdoms in Colour reached #25 on the UK charts, featuring "Feel Good" with Khruangbin and the club-inspired "Turnmills". Recognized by BBC 6 Music and Mixmag, they embarked on a sold-out UK and EU tour in 2019, including a landmark show at O2 Brixton Academy. After extensive live performances worldwide, Maribou State returned in 2025 with Hallucinating Love, marking their latest chapter.
