Maria Rodés, born on May 20, 1986, in Barcelona, Spain, is a Spanish singer and composer known for blending traditional songwriting with experimental compositions. At 23, she debuted with the duo OnÃric, releasing Sin Técnica (2009) alongside guitarist Andy Poole. Rodés then launched her solo career with Una forma de hablar (2010), which received critical acclaim and allowed her to tour extensively across Spain. In 2014, she released Maria canta copla, featuring adaptations of classic Spanish folk songs like "Tatuaje" and "El dÃa que nacà yo", which earned her international recognition, including performances in Mexico and Colombia. Rodés won the Puig-Porret Prize in 2016 for her research on her ancestor LluÃs Rodés, leading to the release of EclÃptica (2018).
