Letizia Cesarini, known professionally as Maria Antonietta, was born on August 26, 1987, in Pesaro, Italy. She began her music career in 2010 under the pseudonym Marie Antoinette with the self-produced album Marie Antoinette Wants to Suck Your Young Blood. Concurrently, she performed with the band Young Wrists, which disbanded in 2011. Cesarini then adopted the Italianized stage name Maria Antonietta and released her debut album Maria Antonietta on January 6, 2012, produced by Brunori Sas. The album marked a shift to Italian-language lyrics. In subsequent years, she released two albums with La Tempesta: Sassi (2014) and Deluderti (2018). She also collaborated on the EP Maria Antonietta Loves Chewingum with the band Chewingum, with whom she toured.
