Biography

Margaret Ann Lewis, born April 30, 1939, in Snyder, Texas, was an American country music singer and songwriter. She began her musical journey singing in a Baptist church choir and formed the band The Thunderbolts during high school. In 1958, Margaret Ann Lewis joined the cast of the Louisiana Hayride radio program, where she met Mira Ann Smith, a local guitarist and aspiring songwriter. Together, they toured with Dale Hawkins and recorded on Smith's Ram Records label. After Ram Records closed, Margaret Ann Lewis and Mira Ann Smith focused on songwriting in Nashville, producing hits like "Reconsider Me" for various artists from 1967 to 1971. Margaret Ann Lewis' only chart appearance as a singer was with "Honey (I Miss You Too)" in 1968, which peaked at number 74 on the country charts. She died March 29, 2019, from complications of pneumonia.
