Biography

Marc Moreland was an American rock guitarist and musician. He began his career in the mid-1970s with the band Cpt. Cosmos de Venus and the Sky People. In 1977 he joined the punk band The Skulls and later that year co-founded the new wave group Wall of Voodoo. With Wall of Voodoo, Moreland gained recognition for the 1983 single “Mexican Radio,” which received significant MTV airplay. After the band disbanded in 1988, he played guitar for Pretty and Twisted and later co-founded the band Department of Crooks. In 2002, Moreland released his solo album, Take It to the Spotlight. He died on March 13, 2002, in Paris, France, at the age of 44 due to renal failure following a liver transplant.
