Biography

María José Llergo, born in 1994 in Pozoblanco, Spain, is a Spanish flamenco singer. She began her musical journey at a young age by joining the local violin school and performing with the choir of the Colegio Concepcionistas. At 19, she moved to Barcelona on a musical scholarship to continue her education and start her professional career as a singer. Her first single, "Niña de las dunas", was released in 2018 alongside guitarist Marc López. Following several singles such as "Nana del Mediterráneo" and "Me miras pero no ves", she published her debut EP Sanación in 2020. In 2022, Llergo won a Goya award for the song "Te Espera El Mar", which was part of the soundtrack for the Spanish film Mediterráneo. She collaborated with Zahara on the reissue of the album REPUTA, released in 2022. In 2023, she released ULTRABELLEZA.
