Manny Manuel is a Puerto Rican singer and musician born Cruz Manuel Hernández Santiago on 1 December 1972 in Orocovis. He began his musical career at a young age, performing in talent shows and joining groups such as Tempo Merenguero and Mayra y Celinés. Manuel gained national fame as a member of the ensemble Los Sabrosos del Merengue, debuting with the hit single âFiera Calladaâ and contributing to the albums Sin Fronteras and Haciendo Historia. He launched a solo career in 1994 and released his debut studio album, Rey de Corazones, in 1995, which achieved platinum certification. His subsequent discography includes the 1996 release Auténtico and the 1998 project Es Mi Tiempo, which was certified gold in Spain. In 2003, Manuel released the album Serenata, which featured covers of traditional romantic songs and earned a Latin Grammy Award nomination. Despite facing personal challenges, including a 2019 incident at the Las Palmas carnival, he remains a prominent figure in merengue and tropical music.
