Biography
Mama's Pride is an American rock band formed in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1972. The group signed to Atco Records in 1974. Albums include their debut Mama's Pride (1975), produced by Arif Mardin, and Uptown & Lowdown (1976). They toured extensively with notable acts such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers Band, and Alice Cooper. In 1978, they supported Gregg Allman on his solo tour. The band disbanded in 1982 but reunited in 1992, releasing Guard Your Heart (1992). The group performed annual reunion shows at The Pageant Theater in St. Louis and were inducted into the KSHE Real Rock Hall of Fame in 2012. Their song "Blue Mist" was voted as Number 1 KSHE Klassic by listeners.
