Biography

Born Malte Fynboe Manniche Ebertbetter on 26 June 1994, and known by his former nickname Gulddreng, Malte Ebert is a chart-topping Danish rapper, singer, and comedian famed for his soulful compositions. Drawing inspiration from his Scandinavian roots and a range of genres including folk and indie-rock, he enjoyed unprecedented success with his first seven singles—including "Model," "Se mig nu," and "Hva' så"—which all went to number one in Denmark in 2016. He released his debut album Farvel in 2017, which peaked at number four on the Danish Top 40, and unveiled his first single as Malte Ebert, "Rather Be"—after dropping the Gulddreng moniker—in June 2018. He has continued to release hit singles at a consistent rate, including 2019's collaborative effort with Martin Jensen, "I Could Get Used to This," and solo chart-toppers "Den (u)officielle VM-sang" and "Julehjertets Hemmelighed" in 2022. In 2024, he shot to the top of the Danish charts again with "Kongen af Danmark," a team effort with Herrelandsholdet.
