Malika Tirolien, born on 26 June 1983 in Marie-Galante, Guadeloupe, is a Canadian singer-songwriter and pianist. She began her musical journey at a young age, influenced by her family's musical background. Tirolien moved to Canada in 2001 to study music at the Université de Montréal. In 2013, she contributed vocals to Snarky Puppy's Grammy Award-winning album Family Dinner â Volume 1, singing on "Sew" and "I'm Not the One". Her debut solo album, Sur La Voie Ensoleillée, was released in 2014. Tirolien went on international tours with Snarky Puppy, performing at major festivals including the Nice Jazz Festival and North Sea Jazz Festival. In 2015, she became the lead singer of Bokanté, releasing Strange Circles (2017) and collaborating with the Metropole Orkest on their second album What Heat (2018), which was nominated for Best World Music Album in the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.
