Biography
Baby Rose, born Jasmine Rose Wilson on August 5, 1994, in Washington, D.C., grew up between Washington, D.C. and Fayetteville, North Carolina before settling in Atlanta. Given a piano as a child, she began writing and recording early, developing a deep contralto voice shaped by soul, gospel, jazz, and classic R&B. After early independent releases, the 2017 project From Dusk âtil Dawn introduced her intimate songwriting and drew attention from artists including J. Cole and SZA. In 2019, she appeared on Matt Martiansâ âOut the Game,â Big K.R.I.T.âs âEverytime,â and Dreamvilleâs Grammy-nominated compilation Revenge of the Dreamers III, where she featured on âSelf Loveâ with Ari Lennox and Bas. That year she also released her debut album, To Myself, led by songs such as âShow You,â âBorderline,â and âMarmot,â and toured with Ari Lennox and Snoh Aalegra. She followed with the EP Golden Hour in 2020 and made her late-night television debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert with âShow You.â After signing to Secretly Canadian in 2022, Baby Rose released Through and Through in 2023, featuring âI Wonât Tellâ with Smino and âFight Clubâ with Georgia Anne Muldrow. The same year, she performed âHeavy Is the Headâ for Creed III: The Soundtrack and toured with Q on the Through the Soul tour. In 2024, she teamed with BADBADNOTGOOD for the EP Slow Burn, a warmer, live-band set featuring âOne Last Dance,â âCarolineâ with Mereba, and âWeekness,â then joined Vince Staples on his Black in America Tour. In 2025, she appeared in Celine Songâs film Materialists as a wedding singer and recorded âIâll Be Your Mirrorâ and âThatâs Allâ for its soundtrack. In 2026, she moved toward her third album, YEARNALISM, released on July 10 through Secretly Canadian and introduced with âFriends Againâ featuring Leon Thomas, âBut, Nvm,â and âLet Me Go.â
