Biography
Malcolm Holcombe was born on September 2, 1955 in Weaverville, North Carolina. He began his musical career playing in local bands such as The Hilltoppers and Redwing during his teenage years. In 1985, he released Trademark with Sam Milner. Holcombe moved to Nashville in 1990, working at Douglas Corner Cafe while performing open mic shows. He signed with Geffen Records in 1996 and released his debut album A Hundred Lies in 1999 under Hip-O Records. Throughout his career, he released numerous albums including Another Wisdom, I Never Heard You Knockin', and Gamblin' House. Holcombe died on March 9, 2024, at the age of 68 due to respiratory failure caused by cancer.
