Magos Herrera, born October 24, 1970 in Mexico City, is a Mexican jazz singer, composer, and producer. She graduated from the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles in 1992 and later studied contemporary improvisation in Boston. While in Mexico City, Herrera released several albums including PaÃs Maravilla (2004) and Todo Puede Inspirar (2005). She moved to New York in 2008 and performed at the New York Winter Jazz Festival. Herrera's album Distancia (2009) charted Number 1 on an online chart's jazz category, featuring collaborations with Aaron Goldberg and Lionel Loueke. Her subsequent albums include Mexico Azul (2010), a tribute to Mexican composers from the Golden Era, and Dawn (2014). She was nominated for Lunas del Auditorio Awards in 2006 and 2009, selected by Siempre Mujer magazine as one of the most important women of the year in 2011, and received the Berklee Latin Masters Award in 2015.
