Biography

Jean de Dieu Makiese, known as Madilu System, was born on May 28, 1950, in Kisantu, Democratic Republic of the Congo. He began his music career in 1970 as a singer with the orchestra Bamboula de Papa Noël Nedule. In 1975, he founded his own group, Pamba Pamba, and later joined Africa International under Tabu Ley Rochereau. Madilu System then became a prominent member of TP OK Jazz led by Franco, contributing to notable duets such as "Non" and "Mamou". Following Franco's death in 1989, he embarked on a solo career with his group TP Multi System. His album releases include Sans Commentaire (1994), Pouvoir (2000), and La Bonne Humeur (2007). Madilu System passed away on August 11, 2007, in Kinshasa due to complications from diabetes and hypertension.
