Madder Mortem, a Norwegian progressive metal band formed in 1993 in Nord-Odal, Hedmark, initially began under the name Mystery Tribe. The group, featuring Agnete M. Kirkevaag on vocals and BP M. Kirkevaag on guitar, among others, released their debut album, Mercury, in 1999 under the British label Misanthropy. The band's lineup underwent several changes over the years, with notable subsequent albums including All Flesh is Grass (2001) and Eight Ways (2009). Madder Mortem toured extensively, notably with Opeth in 2003, and continued to release music through various labels, including Peaceville Records and Dark Essence Records. Their EP Where Dream And Day Collide reached number 32 on the Greek charts in 2010. The band's sixth album, Red in Tooth and Claw, was released in 2016, followed by Marrow in 2018 and Old Eyes, New Heart in 2024.
