Madball was formed in New York City in 1988 as a side project of Agnostic Front, featuring Roger Miret on bass, Vinnie Stigma on guitar, Will Shepler on drums, and Freddy Cricien on vocals. Their first release was the Ball of Destruction EP (1989), followed by their second EP, Droppin' Many Suckers (1992). They signed a Roadrunner Records contract and released their debut full-length album, Set It Off (1994), a cornerstone of the New York hardcore scene. Subsequent albums included Demonstrating My Style (1996), Look My Way (1998), Hold It Down (2000), Legacy (2005), Infiltrate the System (2007), Empire (2010), Hardcore Lives (2014), and For the Cause (2018). These were supported by extensive tours across the United States, Europe, and South America alongside acts such as Hatebreed, Terror, and Suicidal Tendencies. Hardcore Lives entered the German charts at number 43, while For the Cause featured a guest appearance by Tim Armstrong. Madball announced a new album scheduled for release in 2026.
