Louis Félix Angelo Trussardi, also known as Luigi Trussardi, born on June 6, 1938, in Clichy, France, was a musician, double bass player, and cellist. His father, Nicola Trussardi, fled Italy during the Mussolini regime in 1926. Luigi initially played guitar and bass with local bands before studying philosophy at university. In 1956, he met Stéphane Grappelli at the Parisian Club St-Germain, marking his entry into professional jazz music. He performed with notable musicians such as Bud Powell, Eric Dolphy, and Chet Baker in the late 1950s and early 1960s. From 1963 to 1979, Trussardi was a member of Claude Nougaro's orchestra. In 1981, he worked with Marc Hemmeler and Philippe Combelle. Trussardi released three albums under his own name in the 1990s: Vendredi 14 (1994), L'amour dans l'âme (1998), and Introspection (2001). He passed away on April 29, 2010.
