Luis Emilio Batallán González, born on September 18, 1948, in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, is a singer and songwriter. He began his musical career in the 1970s while studying medicine at the University of Santiago de Compostela. His debut album, Ahà ven o maio, released in 1975, became the best-selling record in the Galician language, with approximately half a million copies sold. The album featured music from notable poets such as Ãlvaro Cunqueiro and RosalÃa de Castro, and included the popular song "Ahà ven o maio". Batallán's subsequent albums include Ballet da nena (1990), Eres un fármaco (1992), Tu retrato (2007), HabÃa que chegar (2014), and 70 y 29 (2016). He received the Premio al Patrimonio Musical Gallego in 2014 and the Premio de la CrÃtica Gallega in 2017.
