Biography

Love Amongst Ruin, a British rock band led by Steve Hewitt after his departure from Placebo in 2007, formed in England. The group began with Hewitt collaborating with bassist Jon Thorne and his brother Nick Hewitt to write and demo new music at Steve Hewitt's home studio. In September 2010, Love Amongst Ruin released their self-titled debut album Love Amongst Ruin, which included the single "So Sad (Fade)". The band embarked on the Heaven & Hell Tour from September through November 2010 and released their second single "Home" in October of that year. Their second studio album Lose Your Way was released in June 2015, featuring notable tracks such as "Swan Killer", which was named Track of the Day by Q Magazine on April 9, 2015. The album peaked at Number 1 on the Deutsche Alternative Singles Chart and went silver by April 2021. Perry Bamonte, former guitarist and keyboardist for The Cure and occasional bassist with Love Amongst Ruin, died on 24 December 2025 at the age of 65.
