Biography
Born in Doncaster (South Yorkshire, UK) on December 24, 1991, Louis Tomlinson made his name as a member of the 2010s hit band One Direction, before embarking on a solo career ten years later. Born Louis Troy Austin, he first auditioned for The X Factor in 2009, but failed to qualify. When he tried again the following year, he was picked up by jury member Nicole Schwerzinger, who suggested he join the band-in-training One Direction, who came 3rd in the TV competition. During their six-year existence, the British quintet enjoyed one of pop's greatest adventures, with five chart-topping albums and a string of successes and accolades, until they broke up at the end of 2015. Following in the footsteps of his four acolytes, Louis Tomlinson launched a solo career and in 2016 presented his first single "Just Hold On", a collaboration with DJ Steve Aoki that reached No. 2 in the UK. The following year saw the release of "Back to You" (#8), with American singer Bebe Rexha, followed by "Miss You" under his own name. Founder of the Triple Strings label, distributed by Syco Music, he returns in 2019 with "Two of Us" and throughout the year sprinkles tracks like "Kill My Mind", "We Made It" and "Don't Let It Break Your Heart", destined to feature on the album Walls (2020), which reaches #4 in the UK, among other positions worldwide. Faith in the Future (2022) confirms the rock style the singer-songwriter has adopted, taking him back to the top of the charts in his homeland. After the surprise release in 2024 of the album Live, summarizing the repertoire of his two world tours, Louis Tomlinson found inspiration in Costa Rica, where the songs for his 3rd album How Did I Get Here? were written (#1 in the UK), promoted by the singles "Lemonade", "Palaces" and "Imposter".
